This is the first step in your Scrum journey. Learn about the Scrum Roles, Scrum Events, and Scrum Artifacts.

For anyone who is new to the world of Scrum – its foundations, its principles, its nuances – there’s a lot to digest. That’s the inspiration behind this course, to cut through some of the high-level, intellectual, book smart aspects of Scrum and, well, tell it like it is. At a high level, Scrum is lightweight and easy to understand, but when you dig in you will find that it is difficult to master. This is the first step in your Scrum journey.

Here is the course outline:

1. Introduction to Scrum

For anyone who is new to the world of Scrum – its foundations, its principles, its nuances – there’s a lot to digest. This module introduces you to the Agile Manifesto and history of Scrum.

2. Roles

There are two sets of roles involved in Scrum: roles that are internal to the Scrum Team and roles that are external to the Scrum Team. Our journey begins with a general description of the Scrum Team itself, moves to a discussion of the three roles inside the Team, and finishes with the a description of roles outside the Team.

3. Events

This module will focus on the four Events that make Scrum distinctively Scrum: Sprint Planning, the Daily Standup, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective.

4. Artifacts

We’ve talked Scrum Roles. We’ve talked Scrum Events. Both of these topics give you a solid context of what Scrum looks like in action. But what about having the right tools to get the job done? That’s where this module focuses: Scrum Artifacts.

5. Course Summary

You’ve taken your first step into the world of Scrum. Congratulations!
